Leadership
Following the Leader
Natural leadership skills are noticed in children at the young age, however not every natural leader can become a good manager and not every manager is the natural leader. You might have a dream that you want to reify into successful business, or you were promoted based on your outstanding performance as an employee, you now need to engage people to follow your vision. You realize that more often than you would like to, you need to push your team towards achieving company's goals, to enhance performances, to reach sales number, etc. You use countless intuitive moves and actions that promote or jeopardies or simply do nothing to the path towards your successful outcome.
Sometimes as a leader you are aware of what works and what doesn't, but sometimes you can't figure it out. Humans often overthink which makes them minimize or bluntly quiet their natural intuition. Humans also tend to rely on their familiar and automatic reactions to situations. For example, they can feel confident with the companionship skills and not so good using Dominant role, which as a result may lead towards too much of comfort in their team and not a lot is being accomplished.
Horses' herds always have a leader that seamlessly and accurately uses all Five Role of the Herd (model developed by Linda Kohanov). Through experiential learning humans can gain valuable knowledge about themselves and finetune their skills within incredibly short time. Horses' sense of the inner world of humans is accurate and provides immediate feedback for what works and what does not in your leadership or management style.
